About the Author

Dr. James Fleming is a stroke neurologist and assistant professor at UT-Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Before coming to medicine, he obtained a Masters in Philosophy of Public Policy from The London School of Economics. 

He completed his medical internship and neurology residencies at Vanderbilt University. When not engaged in patient care, he writes on the intersection of medical humanities and philosophy. His reflections have been published in academic journals as well as The Tennessean, Nashville’s newspaper.
